Description: A menacing thief robbed a Coney Island gas station, cops said. A 20-year-old clerk was at the register at the Shell station at Cropsey Avenue and West 18th Street last Sunday at 5:35 p.m. when the alleged thief strolled in, police said. The robber allegedly grabbed the clerk by the jacket, threatened to hurt him and forced him to open the register, cops said. The crook fled with $428 and a cordless land-line phone. The clerk wasn’t harmed. The suspect is believed to be 5-foot-7 and was last seen wearing a black ski jacket with a red stripe on the back, work boots and blue jeans.
